Taiwan set an all-time record for the annual number of foreign travelers when it welcomed its 6 millionth guest Dec. 28, according to the Tourism Bureau.When 37-year-old Kim Hee-kyung from Seoul, South Korea, arrived in Taiwan 11:30 a.m. for a six-day family trip, she was astonished to be welcomed with confetti and a traditional lion dance at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
“This is my first time here in Taiwan and I’m just so happy,” Kim said, adding that she hopes more international travelers will make Taiwan a tourist destination.
