A ceremony to celebrate the opening of the ultra high-speed Hanil Blue Narae car ferry was held on December 23 in Wando Island, Jeollanam-do Province. The car ferry is run by Hanil Express and sponsored by Jeollanam-do Province and Wando-gun County. The Hanil Blue Narae ferry will carry passengers between Wando and Jeju Islands in 1 hour and 40 minutes. The car ferry can transport up to 572 passengers and 84 vehicles. Regular car ferry service will begin in mid-January 2012.
