May 2015 saw Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland open their first joint national park: the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park with its mystic moors, colourful flower meadows and breathtaking rocky landscape.It provides a habitat for rare and endangered animal species, especially in the park’s sprawling beech forest.
