Riverhead Town receives $700,000 from NY for agri-tourismRiverhead Town is receiving two New York State economic development grants totaling $700,000 to establish an agri-tourism center in the former firehouse on Second Street.
Riverhead Town is in contract to sell the former firehouse, which it acquired in a land swap with the Riverhead Fire District, to builder Robert Castaldi for $500,000. Castaldi said today he is hoping to close on the sale in two to four weeks. The Cutchogue builder reopened the long-vacant Suffolk Theater on East Main Street in 2013.
