More than 10,000 passengers stranded at Gatwick as plane blocks runway

An emergency landing by Virgin Atlantic aircraft at the Gatwick airport resulted in a number of flight disruptions. At least 10, 000 passengers to and from the Gatwick airport had their flights cancelled as the airport’s single runway was closed following the emergency landing.
