Shi’ite neighborhoods of Baghdad saw a series of explosions when a number of car bombs blew off in the busy areas killing 42 people and wounding dozens said police and medical sources.
Sadr City faced the worst attack when a car bomb blew up near a place where workers had gathered. It killed at least seven people, including two soldiers.
The two years of continuous war in Syria has caused deep-rooted sectarian divisions and strained Iraq’s fragile coalition of Shi’ite, Kurdish and Sunni factions.
