Even though police and other administration agencies have constricted checks of the boat facilities across all tourist places in Kerala taking into consideration the catastrophic boat mishap in Tanur in Malappuram district in the state, the calamity in which 22 innocent people lost their lives have given rise to a bout of criticism and blame game in Kerala, which upholds its backwaters and river tourism as is major attractions and central point of marketing tourism internationally.
