
Tourism is the biggest industry in the Highlands and lives of thousands of people depend on tourism. They are now waiting for safe return of visitors.
Before the corona pandemic started, the region's six million annual visitors were worth an estimated £1.2bn, supporting 20,000 jobs. Relaxation of lockdown measures started last week after more than three months and this has brought a mini boom in visitors in some places; however, things are not same everywhere.
