Lucky Airlines, a low-cost carrier in China, launched direct flights between Penang in Malaysia and Kunming in China last December 20. This move is expected to attract more tourists to the state.
State Tourism Development and Culture Committee chairman, Danny Law Heng Kiang said the direct flights was a way to promote Penang to the people in Kunming, besides encouraging two-way tourist inflow between the two destinations.
