6.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Taiwan


earthquakeSeveral parts of Taiwan, including the national capital of Taipei, shake up with a recent earth quake on 31st May’16. The magnitude is recorded to be a 6.1 on an average. But the authorities did not find any report of causality yet.


According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicentre is situated at the northeast of Taipei, covering near about 70 miles (110 km) of distance. They also calculated the magnitude to be a 6.4. The Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan stated that the magnitude of the earthquake is 7.2.
