India: Twin rail mishaps claim 24 lives, injure 70 others in Madhya Pradesh


Twin rail mishapsBack-to-back twin rail mishaps at the same spot in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh have killed at least 24 people and injuring 70 others late Tuesday night, a senior railway official said Wednesday.

The incident occurred when two passenger trains passing each other near the town of Harda got derailed. A flash flood triggered by heavy rain struck the bridge which caused the derailment officials said.
