Virgin flight to Las Vegas opts for emergency landing in Gatwick

Virgin AtlanticA Virgin Atlantic flight that was bound for the USA developed sudden landing gear problems but made a safe, “non-standard” landing Monday after returning to London’s Gatwick Airport.

Virgin Atlantic flight VS43, which left Gatwick for Las Vegas at 11:44 a.m., dumped some of its fuel offshore then circled off the coast of southwest England and London area for almost four hours before landing.
