Culture and Tourism Minister of India Dr. Mahesh Sharma has said that
promoting Tourism will be an effective tool to contain extremism in the
country. In a statement issued here today the Minister referred to the
announcement made by the Prime Minister in the closing ceremony of
Sangai Tourism festival in Imphal yesterday and said that Tourism
Ministry will make special efforts to promote North Eastern States as a
