Greece crippled by major union strike – hundreds of flights cancelled

Hundreds of flights were cancelled and several local transport means were affected in Greece as the Greek labour unions staged a 24-hour strike on Thursday. Public offices were shut and demonstrations took a major turn as the first major industrial action to cripple the austerity-weary country in months took off.
