The
Mombasa and Coast Tourism Association have urged Western embassies to
cancel travel advisories to their citizens against visiting Mombasa,
because the advisories have affected negatively on tourism in the
region.Mohammed Hersi, MCTA chairman dismissed the directives saying Mombasa is safe. He said that security challenges are global and both the national and the Mombasa county governments have done their best to guarantee the city is safe.
