Adjustment on Airport Passenger Security Charge

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) announced today that the passenger security charge, which is collected directly from each departing passenger at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), will be adjusted from the current HK$33 to HK$45 for tickets issued on or after 1 June 2014. Tickets issued before 1 June will not be subject to the new charge even if the date of travel takes place on or after 1 June 2014. This is the first adjustment of the charge since 2002 which is made to recover the incremental costs incurred from additional security measures.
