A travel feature about Waterford has won an award at the prestigious 2012 Cathay Pacific Travel Media Awards in Auckland, New Zealand.The winning article – a double-page spread titled “Crystal Clear in Waterford” – was written by author and freelance writer Pamela Wade, who travelled to Ireland on an advance fact-finding trip as a guest of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. Wade took the top spot in the category “best travel story about Britain and/or Ireland”. The article appeared last October in the travel supplement of The Christchurch Press, describing great holiday ideas for Waterford to its 227,000 readers – or potential New Zealand holidaymakers.
