Ryanair calls on government to scrap APD

Ryanair called on the UK Govt to scrap APD as CAA traffic statistics show that traffic at the UK’s regional airports has collapsed by 14% since 2008, with the loss of over 14m passengers annually, while traffic at the main London airports over the same period fell by just 2%. During this period Ryanair has grown its traffic by 33% by lowering fares and working with Govts (in Spain, Holland and Belgium) who have axed similar tourist taxes in order to stimulate tourism and jobs growth.
