Abbot Hall in the English Lake District is to hold a summer exhibition celebrating 50 years of Great British painters. Francis Bacon to Paula Rego will feature artists including Michael Andrews, Frank Auerbach, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, Tony Bevan, Christopher Le Brun, Paula Rego and David Hockney. A mixture of portrait and landscape works will highlight the gallery’s own collection and pay tribute to the rich tradition of painting in the United Kingdom.
