British Airways to showcase short film

Actor and director Richard E Grant has unveiled ‘BOY’ a short film written by up and coming British screenwriter Prasanna Puwanarajah. It will be seen by as many as six million customers on British Airways flights over the coming months, with the ‘making of’ film also shown at the pre-opening of the Olympic Games ceremony.

Written by 31-year-old Prasanna from London, the nine-minute film is a story about a carpenter (played by Timothy Spall), who maintains the track at the Velodrome in the London Olympic Park. The imminence of the Games forces him to deal with the loss of his son, a track cyclist. The bold and moving story takes you on a journey of loss, grief and triumph. The film uses strong cinematography by the Oscar-nominated Danny Cohen and a stunning score by Alex Heffes, which allows the film to unfold with grace and delicacy.
