The big Easter Egg hunt to take place in Brussels

Easter is just around the corner! Are you ready to fill up your egg baskets? Are your shoelaces tied up properly? Then we’re ready to go! On Sunday 8th April at 3pm, young and old alike can join in the biggest Easter Egg hunt in the world. Thousands of fair trade chocolate eggs will be hidden some of Brussels’ parks to try and make a new world record. 
                                                      
On the initiative of the Brussels-Capital Region, this huge hunt is being put on by VISITBRUSSELS with the help of a number of municipalities in partnership with Max Havelaar Belgium, the fair trade label. The fair trade system is well known as a shining example in the battle against poverty in the South. The biggest problem in the cultivation of cocoa in Ivory Coast and Ghana is child labor. Fair trade chocolate guarantees a minimum income for cocoa producers. This year, Max Havelaar is launching a campaign: “Soyons fiers de notre chocolat, choisissons-le équitable!” (Let’s be proud of our chocolate, but let’s buy it fair!). A chocolate figurine called “Max” will be created to explain the problems of cocoa and educate children and adults to make the choice to buy more fair trade chocolate.
