Sentul International Convention Center witnessed musical extravaganza

Recently, no less than 10,000 angklungs together burst into music at the large Sentul International Convention Center near Bogor , when, conducted by  West’s Java very own Governor  Ahmad Heryawan,  no less  than 10,000 pairs of hands made music by enthusiastically shaking  Java’s most renowned bamboo musical instrument.

With his hands waving like a conductor, Governor Heryawan led the massive audience into playing the Sundanese traditional song “Manuk Dadali” and the Indonesian national song “Tanah Airku”.

The occasion was held to show the appreciation on the part of the government and the people of West Java that the province’s idigenous instrument  had been declared  World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010 by UNESCO.
