First day of spring ushered in on Olympic Park

The first day of spring has been marked on the Olympic Park with gardens of golden daffodils starting to blossom. The 250-hectare Olympic Park is Britain’s largest new urban park for more than a century.

The flowers, which are a symbol of the start of the new season, emerged recently during warmer weather and will be in bloom over the next few weeks. They are located in the London 2012 Garden that stretches along the riverside between the Aquatics Centre and Olympic Stadium.
