J. Wegner (1914-2007) famously said: “A chair should have no rear view.
It should be beautiful from all sides and angles.” Wegner was a
prolific designer and among his accomplished creations was ‘The Chair’, a
design that defined the times when it became part of the studio
furnishing during the US presidential debate between John F. Kennedy and
Richard Nixon (1960). Many of Wegner’s designs are still available. A
number of his handcrafted designs are produced by PP Møbler, located in
Allerød north of Copenhagen, and by Rud Rasmussen in Copenhagen. Among
