Port of Rotterdam expects to deliver more biomass over longer distances

Wood pellets are developing from a niche product traded regionally into a mass product transported around the world. European market leader ‘German Pellets’ is shifting purchasing and production further away from the home market. The corporate group produces 1.75 million tonnes of pellets yearly at 14 locations in Europe. A company factory in Tyler Country in Texas, which will be operational in 2013, will add another 500,000 tonnes. The market is Europe.
